The Pine Trees Hotel is just 7 miles from the beautiful village of Blair Atholl. Situated in the heart of Highland Perthshire this wonderful small villiage is packed with things to see and do.
There has been a mill on this site since the late 16th century and Blair Atholl is one of the very few working traditional mills left in Scotland. Open from 29th March until 31st October, you can see the wheat and oats being ground, eat delicious freshly-made produce in the Tea Room (or the garden in summer) and buy flour, bread and cakes to take home. Baking courses are also available.
Atholl Country Life Museum
Housed in the former village school and recently refurbished, the Museum offers insights into bygone life, colourful characters and the impact they had far beyond the local community. You’ll find the only stuffed Highland cow, a reconstructed post office and all kinds of other curiosities! The Museum is currently undertaking the Voices of Atholl project to provide a firsthand account of local life in the mid 20th century.
Discover 700 years of fascinating Highland history on a tour of this iconic Scottish landmark, still home to the Dukes of Atholl. With 30 rooms to explore, including attics, a beautifully restored 9-acre walled garden, deer, red squirrels, a woodland adventure playground, tea room and gift shop, there is something for all ages here. Other outdoor activities include pony trekking, tractor tours, fishing and Land Rover safaris.
Blair Atholl Golf Club
Founded in 1896, this is a challenging 9-hole James Braid-designed course, suitable for all levels of play. Set in gently rolling parkland, with beautiful views of the surrounding Perthshire countryside, this well maintained course offers excellent variety, despite its size. Tuition is available with our Pro, Neil Mackintosh, and should be booked in advance. Visitors are welcome to play the course and use the Clubhouse facilities.
