The House of Bruar outside Pitlochry
The House of Bruar is one of the most popular shopping attractions in Scotland, seeing more than one million visitors ever year and compared to retails names such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods.
The country clothing store opened in 1995 and developed a brand of luxury Scottish clothing to satisfy a wide range of customers. The store has quickly become Scotland’s number one shopping experience.
Situated just over ten miles from the Pine Trees Hotel, and accessible along the A9, The House of Bruar can be easily reached.

Home of Country Clothing
The Ladieswear Hall offers a wide range of classic and modern options for women. There is a selection of plaids designed in-house, ranging from traditional black watch tartan to other patterns, so you can create your own outfit.
The Menswear Hall is renowned for its tweed selection and offers the unique service of making a shooting coat from your chosen tweed. It also had a technical clothing department, which supplies clothes to defend you against the elements.
The Knitwear Hall houses the largest collection of cashmere in the UK and offers a wide range of clothing for men and women. There is also a large range of lambswool, angora and silk collections.
Food Hall
If you have a sweet tooth, have a look at the wonderful chocolate counter and their truffles from the High Truffle Company. You can also purchase shortbread from the world-class Shortbread House of Edinburgh.
Have a look at the collection of honeys on offer, which is the most comprehensive in the whole of Scotland. These range from Scottish Heather to exclusive New Zealand Comb.
For those who like a tipple, there is wide selection of wines and spirits on offer. You will find Scottish spirits such as Hendrick’s Gin, alongside delicious French wines. And why not treat yourself, and get some exclusive House of Bruar Champagne?
The Gallery
If you have a creative spirit or enjoy the arts, then the House of Bruar has the added bonus of its very own art gallery.
Have a look at the wide range of historical and beautiful pieces of antique furniture, from writing tables to studded trunks.
There is also a large selection of paintings that focus on rural life. These include stunning works from Teresa Davis and impressionism from Carl Ellis.
Butchery
Have a look at the award-winning butchery, which sources beef predominately from a 10 mile radius of the Atholl site. Make sure you try their famous honey roast sausage, which was recently voted the best sausage in Britain at the prestigious Smithfield Awards.
