Summer at Pitlochry Festival Theatre

Pitlochry’s “theatre in the hills” 2016 Summer programme is now here and available for you to view. With 7 wonderful yet wonderfully different productions...

Building on the outstanding success fom PFT we are sure that the 2016 Season will bring productions to suite every theatrical appetite.

Carousel - Starts 27th May
A dramatic testament to the enduring power of love, Carousel is Rodgers & Hammerstein`s towering achievement. Featuring a large cast and live orchestra, PFT`s flagship production for 2016 promises unforgettable musical entertainment, from the glorious June Is Bustin` Out All Over, the deeply moving If I Loved You, and the brilliant Carousel Waltz, to the heart-rending You`ll Never Walk Alone, amongst many, many others.

CarouselThark - Starts 2nd June
Ben Travers`s classic 1927 Aldwych farce, in a glorious new version by Clive Francis, is fast-paced, rip-roaring and hilariously inventive: perfect Summer entertainment! If you enjoyed See How They Run! or Noises Off, don`t miss this!

This Happy Breed - Starts 28th July
Written in the spring of 1939, but rarely seen on the stage after David Lean`s magnificent film version was released in 1944, Coward`s saga of the lives and loves of one lower-middle-class family and their friends during a turbulent period of history is warm-hearted, funny, deeply moving and infused with a love of Britain and its people.

Hard Times - 1st September
A thrilling, moving and ultimately uplifting story of betrayal, sacrifice and redemption, Dickens`s great novel of the triumph of the imagination over the brutality of the new industrial age is brought vividly to life in Stephen Jeffreys` magnificent adaptation.

The first UK revival in over ten years of Ayckbourn`s extraordinary Damsels In Distress trilogy: three completely different modern comedies.
Each play in this trilogy is an entirely separate, stand-alone story, featuring completely different characters. Uniquely, however, all three plays share the same actors - and the same set!

Whisky KissesGamePlan - Starts 9th June
The first play in Ayckbourn`s dazzling Damsels In Distress trilogy, GamePlan is a sharp, contemporary black comedy of metropolitan morals and mishaps. If you enjoyed Communicating Doors in 2012, you`ll love this!

FlatSpin - Starts 16th June
With echoes of Hitchcock`s North By Northwest, FlatSpin is an hilarious, high-energy story of mistaken identity, magic and misdirection, featuring twist, after twist, after twist. If last Season`s Improbable Fiction caught your fancy, book your seats now!

RolePlay - Starts 23rd June
A wickedly funny and sometimes poignant story of love, lust and the hazards of dinner parties, the third part of the Damsels In Distress trilogy is classic Ayckbourn. If you enjoyed PFT`s hugely popular A Chorus Of Disapproval in 2013, you won`t want to miss this!

To catch all these gems, PFT have created special ticket offers for those who visit regularly, to ensure you see more for less! These offers are available for a limited time only!
